Hotel Description
|
With a history stretching back to the early 19th century, The Britannia Adelphi is a premier hotel for business, leisure or shopping, within easy reach of the M6 and M62 motorways. Shopping centres, Albert Dock, The Beatles Experience and other cultural highlights are all within walking distance.
The elegant public areas and banqueting halls have been faithfully restored to provide stunning facilities for 800 guests. The hotel's new leisure centre caters for every need amid its wood, steel and glass interior, complemented by a white marble heated swimming pool. The stylish Wave Bar and Pizzeria are top city meeting places, with 2 more bars (each with Sky Sports), Jenny's Carvery and Crompton's French Restaurant making you truly spoilt for choice. The Britannia Adelphi Hotel originally dates back to 1826, but was extensively rebuilt in 1912 to cater for passengers from large cruise liners, many of which were based in Liverpool. The city was the home port of all the White Star Line sh ips, the most famous of which was the Titanic. The Sefton suite at the hotel is an exact replica of the Smoking Lounge aboard the Titanic.
The hotel’s own on-site Spindles health and leisure club provides a heated marble swimming pool. It is open from 07:00 to 22:30 (Monday to Friday); 10:00 to 19:00 (Saturday); and 10:00 to 17:00 (Sunday). Entry is at an additional cost. Last entry is permitted one hour before closing. It is the hotel's policy that all children in Spindles between 2 and 16 years of age should be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Also on-site is Spindles Salon, specialists in Pamper Party days, offering fantastic discounts for residents and members. Once at the hotel, you can mix and match professional salon treatments, swimming, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, sunbed, lunch, dinner snacks, fine wine, champagne, imported beers and overnight accommodation. Children’s parties – offering swimming, face-painting and pizza – can also be catered for.
There is no access to the hotel for electronic wheelchairs. Other wheelchair access is via a side entrance. There is lift access to all floors. Accessible rooms and bathrooms are available. Access to Jenny's restaurant and bars may be difficult for guests with mobility problems, therefore room service alternatives are offered. The gym is not specifically fitted with disabled facilities. |

Hotel Reviews
"Poor breakfast quality for the price. Weak orange juice from concentrate, warm yoghurts, one cup of coffee had enough caffein for a day. Poor quality, warm rather than hot breakfast buffet. Needed to squeeze against wall to get into bed. Noisy elevator... could hear from room. Hard to find the bar and then it was more like a vast city pub bar, no style, looked for the sawdust on the floor"
